Molly teaches Nonviolent Communication with Willamette Valley NVC and acts as Secretary of the Board for Oregon Prison Project, a non-profit that brings NVC into prisons. She works in the public sector as a mental health advocate for houseless clients. Molly holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and is pursuing a Masters of Social Work.
Molly discovered Nonviolent Communication twenty years ago in therapy and met Marshall Rosenberg, the curriculum’s founder, at a workshop shortly after. As a person in recovery for codependency, she was drawn to the combination of honest self-expression and compassion Marshall modeled. She studied NVC rigorously for several years and then fell out of practice. She renewed her commitment to the practice in 2024 after observing the negative impact of her habitual communication style. She is now enjoying her first year of practicum as a CNVC-certification candidate.
