ORNCC Requests for Independent Facilitators

Posting Trainings/Services on the ORNCC website or listing on ORNCC regional email newsletters.

If you want to have your name, training or services listed on the ORNCC website or in regional email newsletters, please keep reading! The ORNCC board has received many questions about what kind of support ORNCC can give to people who want to share NVC. We (the board) hope you will find those answers here.

ORNCC can offer you support in the following ways:

  • Listing your name and services on the ORNCC website on the Independent Facilitators page.
  • Listing your workshop, class or seminar on the Workshop page.
  • Announcing your workshop, class or seminar in one of the regions e-newsletters.
  • Giving you access to the Promotion Toolkit and Workshop Toolkit. Some tools and forms are specific to sponsoring Marshalls trainings, but many of them can be adapted to workshops such as yours.
  • Connecting you with the regional team volunteers in your area, who may be able to support you in other ways, such as distributing flyers to NVC practice groups and businesses, other publicity, staffing, co-leadership, NVC material sales, etc.

We hope these strategies will help to meet your needs for contribution from ORNCC. We hope they will help raise awareness of the resources you offer, and that they will help you communicate with individuals and groups around Oregon and Washington.

We also have some needs we'd like to express, along with some requests we'd like to make, hoping that you can help ORNCC in its efforts to raise awareness of NVC and ORNCC. As more individuals and groups become aware of NVC, ORNCC imagines being able to strengthen its support of everyone involved in this work. If you are unclear about any of these requests, we are open to talking with you about any of them. See the bottom of this page for contact information.

  • Help us give accurate information to readers of the website and newsletters: Send us a description of your NVC-related experience so we can list it in the Independent Facilitators biographies page of the ORNCC website and in newsletter announcements.
  • Help us plan our time and resources for supporting you in your work: Alert the NVC team leader in your area about your classes or workshops. Given the availability of their resources, local teams can help spread the word, distribute flyers, announce your event in any local NVC newsletters and provide you with assistants on site.
  • Help us expand the network! Some portion of your workshop participants came because of years of ORNCC's efforts to spread NVC and gather names and email addresses. This database is our (and your) most valuable asset, and we would like mutuality in building that asset. We request that you share either the ORNCC website address or hand out ORNCC brochures, which you can get through your regional team. We hope that needs for inspiration and support for trainers will be met as more people become aware of ORNCC as an information source for continued learning, workshops, practice groups, NVC community, etc.
  • Ask people who attend your workshop if they would like to stay in touch with you, with each other and with ORNCC. If you collect names and e-mail or postal addresses, ask people if they would like to receive a monthly e-newsletter about NVC events and activities.
  • If they do, within a month, submit their names, addresses, e-mails and phone numbers to an ORNCC board member or state coordinator. We will add them to the ORNCC community and newsletter databases.

Also, CNVC has requests for people who want to share NVC who are not certified trainers.

If you are listed on the ORNCC website as an Independent Facilitator and organizations contact you to do a paid private training as a result of that listing, we request the following:

  • Contact the local NVC team leader within a couple days of confirming the training. The team may be able to offer you support (staffing, co-leadership, NVC materials sales, etc.). Also, it would meet local team needs for inspiration to know that you are contributing to the community by offering your workshop.
  • After the workshop, if requested, have a brief (five-minute), general conversation with a local team member about how the workshop went. This, too, would meet local team needs for inspiration to hear how things went. If people from the local team served as volunteers for you, your feedback might also meet their needs for learning about what needs were met and unmet, and what changes might be put in place when offering support in the future.
  • Donate an amount that you would feel comfortable giving to ORNCC (a tax deductible donation) in consideration of the support from ORNCC that contributed to the success of your event. This would help to meet our needs for financial stability and growth. As a volunteer organization, we rely on donations to cover costs, such as the website, telephone, and printed materials.

If you disagree or have discomfort with any of these requests, would you be willing to help us understand your concerns? We would appreciate if you would e-mail one of the following board members: Bryn Hazell (Bend area); Michelle De Lude (Portland area); Michael Dreiling, Amber Fauson, or Lisa-Marie DiVincent, (Eugene area).

If you agree with these requests, please forward the information you would like posted to one of the board members listed above, and follow the trainings/services format on our website.

Thank you for reading this and considering some of the ways we may support one another in sharing NVC. We look forward to working together in mutually beneficial ways. Thank you for all you do to help spread NVC.
